Spreads

We know that tight pricing is important and as a market maker we are fortunate to be able to control the rates we show our clients rather than relying on external rate feeds. We also believe that it’s not just tight pricing that’s important to you but the ability to access that pricing consistently.

Many brokers advertise attractive spreads with the word ‘from’ hidden in the small print. In reality these ‘attractive’ spreads are only accessible for brief moments as the rate feed flickers around. At MahiFX we will show you our best rates consistently and make sure we warn you if the pricing changes due to unexpected market conditions. Providing a reliable and consistent trading experience is key to the MahiFX philosophy.

How MahiFX differs.

We're a market maker. Essentially, we've cut out the middle man which means we can pass on better pricing to you. In most cases, this allows us to offer better prices than our competitors.

What is Spread?

The spread is the difference between the bid and the offer price. Effectively, the difference in how much profit (or loss) you can make. The better the price you get the trade at, the more chance you have of maximising your profits.

MahiFX's policy is to offer the same spreads to all clients regardless of trade volume or trade frequency. View our recent spreads

How much does spread really matter?

A lot. To illustrate this, we've created a simple calculator that demonstrates the difference. Choose a currency pair and your current broker. Then enter the number of pips of movement you want on the trade along with your probability of winning and hit Calculate. You can see immediately how much spread matters.

You have to be right more often than you are wrong to overcome the spread. The smaller the spread the less your winning percentage needs to be. To help you identify profitable trading opportunities have a look at our charting tools.
